United continues its Winning Streak

Reviews with Rob | Summer Creek vs Beaumont United

The 22-7 (6-3 in district) Summer Creek Bulldogs hosted this highly anticipated matchup against the 26-1 (10-0 in district) Beaumont United Timberwolves. Entering the contest looking to add to their 25-game winning streak, it looked as if the Timberwolves were going to run away to their 26th straight victory in the first half. Prairie View football commit W Trealyn Porchia would be a nightmare matchup for the Bulldogs. He would score 13 points in the first quarter alone and basically put the team on his back. Not to be outdone, Summer Creek would fight back. Led by their ℅ 2024 W Cam Patterson wing duo and unsigned senior W Kyle Morgan, they continued to make sure that the lead wouldn’t get out of hand. Making tough shots and putting Beaumont United on their heels. ℅ 2025 W Jacob Vannostrand would also come in and help seize momentum. His 8 quick points and some stifling defense would have Summer Creek tying up the game at halftime, 37 all.

The University of Washington signee G Wesley Yates III showed in the second half why he’s one of the top players in the country. He impacted the game in multiple facets. Even when he wasn’t scoring, he put his imprint over the entire game. ℅ 2024 G Kayde Dotson also had a better second half. You could see moments of maturation and leadership emerging from his poised play. ℅ 2025 G Bryson Wheatfall played well for Coach Coleman in the absence of Kyle Morgan, who left the game and did not return. Wheatfall would score multiple baskets from the midrange area to the tune of 11 second-half points. Cam Patterson would also score 15 second-half points; however, the combined efforts of the young duo would not be enough to combat the battle-tested, two-time defending state champions. When the game got close, Beaumont United took their play to another level and by the beginning of the fourth quarter they were sporting an 18-point lead. Summer Creek would get no closer than 10 and Beaumont United would make it 26 victories in a row with an 84-72 victory to take complete control of an otherwise tight district race.

Summer Creek was led by: Cam Patterson with 25 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists; Bryson Wheatfall with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists; Kyle Morgan with 10 points

Beaumont United was led by: Trealyn Porchia with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks; Wesley Yates III with 22 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals; Kayde Dotson with 17 points, 2 assists
